Taking advantage of your surroundings

It blows my mind how few people take advantage of their surroundings and actually enjoy where they live. It never crossed my mind until I went to New York City with a friend a few years back and I realized that the friend and her family only lived about two hours from the city - yet she rarely visited. WTF? I then began to think more often about this idea and started to think about it with other people in other settings. It is true and it just blows my mind.

Just spent seven days in Seattle WA and I feel very good about the amount of things I was able to take in while there. Attended a conference, went to the Museum of Flight and was able to see a British Airways Concorde, former AirForce One, and the DreamLifter plane that is helping construct the Dreamliner 787 from Boeing Corp. I was also able to visit the Public Market in Seattle and see Pike's Fish Market and the original Starbucks Coffee. Seattle has a lot to offer and there are so many other places in this country and world that have similar and even better things to offer, but we often overlook learning about where we live or where we visit.

Hopefully you will stop and think more often about the area you live in and the things that your area have to offer. Take full advantage of your surroundings.
